Quantum Technologies for Space Applications
Quantum technologies are approaching the necessary maturity to transition from laboratories and terrestrial application to be an integral part of space systems. Using the principles of quantum mechanics such as superposition, interference and entanglement to realize new capabilities such as secure communication or measurements with high accuracy and low drift. Airbus is actively pursuing these quantum technologies to further develop its abilities to build high performance communication, earth observation and exploration systems. In this presentation a brief overview over a selection of applications of quantum technologies in space and Airbus’ activities in the respective fields is given.
