Creating enthusiasm for physics

Join the young network for physics enthusiasts and find your place in the Young DPG. You are not automatically in the Young DPG, even if you are a member of the DPG and feel young.

The Young DPG invites you to share your enthusiasm for physics beyond your studies and to draw new motivation from the exchange with like-minded people. We unite 4000 people interested in physics nationwide, from high school graduates to the young professionals who all work together. Sometimes we are working in different directions. Nevertheless, we hold on to what unites us: We are united by our experience of being able to realize dreams together. As Young DPG we organize inspiring encounters at over 200 events every year.

Become a member of the Young DPG

You are not yet a member of the DPG? Then register here and become part of our scientific society.
All DPG members can assign themselves to the Young DPG without any membership fee since the Young DPG is a working group within the DPG, i.e. an interdisciplinary association with voting rights in the board of the DPG. You can easily change your membership data here. In the section Working Groups you can select two interdisciplinary associations. With 4,000 members, the young DPG is the largest and most active working group of the DPG.

Communication and Contact

As a  member of the Young DPG you will automatically receive our monthly newsletter with news, event information and invitations to our offers. For our voluntarily engaged members, there is also an active member mailing list, which provides information on current developments in the federal board and the working teams. If you are interested in our internal information, you can register for the active mailing list here.
To support our active members in their commitment, we collect useful guides, templates and more as internal documents on the website. Members can log in at the top right of the website to view the internal documents. Click here for the internal documents of the Young DPG.
An overview of the nationwide contact people in the Young DPG can be found here. We look forward to your questions, suggestions and ideas. A little tip: In the Young DPG we are on first-name terms :)

Regional Groups

We are happy about every new, motivated jDPG member. Through the activities of our regional groups alone, we reach several thousand people every year. Do you have any questions or would you like more information about founding regional groups? Then please send us an E-Mail.

Nationwide working teams

The so-called A-Teams meet regularly for chats to discuss and develop projects together. Here you can contribute with your ideas to national projects and events and get support from experienced (Young DPG) professionals.
