We, the jDPG Regional Group Göttingen, are a group of motivated physics students who would love to share our enthusiasm for physics with you. Our events are aimed at both students and the general public. We are also always looking for new collaborators. Curious about the jDPG? Perfect, then you've come to the right place! At the beginning of the meeting, we will introduce ourselves and our work. Here you can learn everything about the jDPG, ask any questions you may have, or simply let us tell you all about it.

General meeting WiSe 2025/26
At the beginning of the semester, we get together in the regional group to select our team of speakers. This is probably the most formal meeting of our group during the year and therefore one of the ‘highlights’, but it is always worth attending.

Beer and Pretzels' WiSe 2025/26
Göttingen has a lot to offer! Not just bars, pubs and various cultural activities. Göttingen is particularly rich in physics-related science. In the ‘Beer & Pretzels’ lecture series, Göttingen scientists present their research.
Would you like to simply discuss physics, or do you already have specific ideas about what you would like to do? Then please join us! After the lecture, we invite you and the scientist to enjoy pretzels and drinks.

Meet your Future WiSe 2025/26
As a physicist, all doors are open to you. Not only is the obvious career path in research possible, but paths leading all the way to the Federal Chancellery are also conceivable. To give you an idea of what is possible and what skills you will acquire unnoticed during your physics studies, we invite physicists who have pursued careers outside of research to speak with you. They will talk about their careers and then be available for discussion over drinks.

Excursions WiSe 2025/26
Same same, but different. Similar to ‘Meet your Future’, the excursions aim to highlight opportunities outside of direct research at the University of Göttingen. But this time, we are not inviting anyone; instead, we will visit various institutions in the Göttingen area with you.
