The Working Group Physics in Medical and Pharmaceutical Study Programs (abbreviated: AGPM) aims to improve physics education in the fields of Human Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, and Pharmacy. In the aforementioned study programs, the curriculum is regulated uniformly nationwide through licensing regulations (Approbationsordnungen), and uniform examinations are held. The AGPM aims to network those involved in the training for an exchange of experiences among themselves, to act as a representative body, and as a contact point for others interested in medical studies, particularly regarding the further development of the study programs.

The EGPM was founded in 2018 within the German Physical Society (DPG) as a subgroup of the Working Group Physics Practical Courses (AGPP). The AGPP provides a suitable framework for the exchange of ideas through its regular meetings, within the scope of the annual DPG schools and practical course leader conferences, as many of those involved in the physics practical courses are also responsible for the training of students in medical and pharmaceutical study programs.

The EGPM meetings are open to all interested parties. Announcements of the meetings are made via the AGPP page. In addition, there is a dedicated mailing list EGPM-Info corresponding to the PLT-Info list (see conditions there).
