The Nicholas Kurti Science Prize for Europe

The Nicholas Kurti Science Prize recognizes young scientists in Europe conducting innovative research involving low temperatures and/or high magnetic fields. The prize aims to increase the visibility of excellent research at an early career stage—between completing a PhD and obtaining a permanent academic position—through financial support and a prestigious award. Researchers at postdoctoral level or equivalent career stages (up to 7 years after completing a PhD, excluding parental leave) are eligible to apply, provided their research has been conducted predominantly at a European institution and involves low temperatures and/or high magnetic fields. Applicants of all nationalities are welcome. More information.

DGM Award

The DGM Award is presented to an outstanding mid-career scientist for exceptional scientific or scientific-technical achievements that represent a breakthrough in materials science and engineering, documented through publications, or that have opened up a new field of research. As a rule, the PhD should have been completed at least 10 years prior, and the dissertation itself should not be considered in the evaluation. In addition, the award recipient must be a personal member of DGM at the time of nomination and award presentation. More information.
