Welcome to the Chemical and Polymer Physics Division (CPP)
The Chemical Physics and Polymer Physics Division (CPP) of the German Physical Society was founded in 2000 as a union of the Chemical Physics Division (founded in 1992) and the Polymer Physics Division (founded in 1951). Chemical Physics and Polymer Physics work in an interdisciplinary manner at the interface between physics, chemistry and biology.
At present, the subject matter is subdivided into the following topics:
- Gels, polymer networks and elastomers
- Charged soft matter, polyelectrolytes and ionic liquids
- Responsive and adaptive systems
- Nanomaterials, composites and hybrids
- Crystallization
- Molecular and polymer dynamics, friction and rheology
- Biopolymers, biomaterials and bioinspired functional materials
- Complex fluids and colloids, micelles and vesicles
- Membranes and porous materials
- Energy storage materials and devices
- Hybrid, organic and perovskite optoelectronics and photovoltaics
- Simulation methods and modeling of soft matter
- 2D materials, thin films and interfaces
- Wetting, fluidics and liquids at interfaces and surfaces
- Emerging topics in chemical and polymer physics, new instruments and methods
The Chemical and Polymer Physics Division acts on behalf of 1.654 members (as of January 09, 2025). All members of the German Physical Society are invited to join this division, to submit contributions to its conferences, to make suggestions for the improvement of the division's work, and to solicit new members.
Meeting of the Condensed Matter Section in Regensburg, March 16-21, 2025
At the end of this conference we thank all those individuals, who contributed by their talks and posters and by help with the organization to a successful meeting of the Condensed Matter Section in Regensburg.
