We are delighted to announce the Bad Honnef Physics School on Integrability, designed especially for young researchers, including PhD students and PostDocs, who are eager to delve into the fascinating realm of integrability in physics. We also want to stress that Master Students interested in the field of integrability are more than welcome to participate.

Overview:

The School  on Integrability is your gateway to:

  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the notion of integrability in physics, spanning foundational principles to advanced applications.
  • Obtaining insights into various aspects of integrability ranging from lattice models to field theory applications.
  • Equipping yourself with essential mathematical tools, experimental techniques, and data analysis methods.
  • Engaging in active discussions, hands-on working sessions, and opportunities to present your research.

Background:
The analysis of interacting field theories or many-body systems requires in general approximations or numerical simulations. Both methods have their limitation: while the approximative method is directly limited by the validity of the simplifying assumptions, numerical methods can be constrained by the lack of sufficient memory or exponentially increasing computational time with the system size. Furthermore, one needs preexisting, established, and reliable results to contextualize the derived results. Integrable models, which can be solved analytically provide very reliable starting points for not exactly solvable systems. Besides their role as benchmarks, integrable models can also be experimentally realized and thus have a direct application in explaining physical phenomena e.g. ultracold atomic gases in optical lattices. Hence, Integrability has a rich history in physics and boasts wide-ranging applications across scientific disciplines.
Recently, further methods for integrable models have emerged- such as generalized hydrodynamics, generalized Gibbs ensembles, entropy measures in quantum field theory, the form-factor program, and alternative frameworks such as the methodology of Separation of variables. The invited speakers are experts in these fields and will provide insights into their expertise. However, not only these recent developments are the topic of this edition but also the contributions of the participants covering all types of subareas in the field of integrability.
