DPG Fall Meeting 2025
From 8 to 12 September 2025, the second DPG Fall Meeting took place at the University of Göttingen under the theme "100 Years of Quantum Physics", bringing together around 1,000 researchers in the field of quantum sciences.
Göttingen played a central role in the emergence of quantum mechanics 100 years ago – particularly with Heisenberg’s groundbreaking work in 1925. The 2nd DPG Fall Meeting honoured this legacy whilst also reflecting on current and future developments in quantum physics. The cross-disciplinary conference reflected the impressive breadth of modern quantum physics – ranging from ultracold quantum gases and solids to astrophysical questions, quantum computing and societal implications. This diversity demonstrated not only the depth of fundamental research, but also the growing relevance of quantum-based technologies for other disciplines and everyday applications.
