DPG-Frühjahrstagungen (Spring Meetings)

Core objectives of the DPG are the sharing of knowledge and the promotion of young talents; therefore, the DPG-Frühjahrstagungen (DPG Spring Meetings) are an important platform upon which students can present their first master or diploma thesis topics and discuss them with scientists. The comprehensive acceptance of presentations given by young scientists in the conference program is also a unique feature of the DPG-Frühjahrstagungen (DPG Spring Meetings) at the international level. At the same time, these meetings are of great importance for getting in touch with other scientists.

The WE Heraus Communication Programme provides financial support for the active participation of young physicists in the DPG-Frühjahrstagungen (DPG Spring Meetings).

In addition to the scientific part of the DPG-Frühjahrstagungen (DPG Spring Meetings), there is a variety of opportunities - such as the Job Market, the "Lunchtalks" or the DPG Industry Days - to give students an insight into the diverse work of physicists. In particular, they offer young people good opportunities to plan their future careers.

The conferences are rounded off by exhibitions of scientific instruments and literature, laboratory tours, the EinsteinSlam or social events such as welcome evenings or pub tours with the jDPG; thus, the conferences are also of great importance for all participants in order to establish new contacts and maintain existing connections.

By decision of the Executive Board, the DPG will compensate for fossil CO2 emissions resulting from mobility for DPG conferences and committee meetings until further notice, but at least until the end of 2026.
