The next networking meeting in June will be something special. This time, we will stay overnight in a self-catering house in the northeast of NRW, in Neuenheerse. We will cook together and take care of our own meals during the weekend. And of course, there will once again be many interesting workshops and opportunities to network with other regional groups. Participation in the networking meeting is free of charge for you.
Registration is now open. Sign up quickly, as participation is limited to 30 people.

You are warmly invited to two more jDPG game nights during the anniversary year. On Monday, June 1, and Wednesday, July 1, starting at 7:00 PM, you will have the opportunity to play different games and connect with others. In addition, you can use the opportunity to ask your questions about the RG Challenge in June and July.
Feel free to join us. You can access the Zoom room here:

You are also welcome to join later. No registration is required.
We look forward to you getting to know other regional groups during the game night and celebrating the anniversary year together.
Extraordinary General Assembly of the jDPG
All jDPG members are warmly invited to an extraordinary general assembly! Many thanks to everyone who filled out the scheduling poll!
📆 When? June 20, 10:00 AM
📍 Where? Zoom Room 1
At this meeting, submitted motions will be discussed and voted on. This is your opportunity to actively help shape the jDPG!
Please complete the registration form by June 1 if you would like to participate. It will still be possible to register later, but registering earlier helps us a lot organizationally ☺️
If you would like to submit a motion yourself, you can also do so until June 1.
There will be a workshop on June 12 for the preliminary discussion of submitted motions. More information here:

Quant26: Quantum Dynamics – Fundamentals and Realizations
📆 When? September 7–11, 2026
📍 Where? Dresden
In cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPI-PKS), we are once again organizing a School for Master Students on the topic of Quantum Dynamics – Fundamentals and Realizations. The school will take place at MPI-PKS in Dresden, Germany.
Fascinated by quantum physics and wondering whether a career in research might be right for you? This school will help you find your answer. Learn about the rapidly evolving field of quantum dynamics, from recent experimental developments in ultracold atoms, quantum materials, and Rydberg atoms, to novel theoretical and numerical approaches to exotic many-body dynamics and out-of-equilibrium phases of matter. Connect with students and physicists at all career stages who are eager to share their passion for quantum research with you.
This school invites you and all master’s students considering a PhD in quantum physics to experience the broader community of theoretical and experimental quantum research.
Migration from Rocket-Chat to Matrix
We are excited to finally announce that the jDPG will switch from Rocket.Chat to Matrix on June 1!
All chat messages since January 1, 2024 (as in the test instance) will be transferred. The old address chat.jdpg.de will then directly redirect to element.jdpg.de. More information will also be sent by email to everyone.
A testing phase is currently underway, and you are very welcome to participate 😊
FAQOur current license expired quite a while ago, which means we now only have a limited number of mobile push notifications and some features are disabled. Since the old licensing model no longer exists, upgrading would suddenly cost us a five-digit amount per year.
2. How can I test Matrix?Very easily: all active accounts (status before April 28, 2026) have already been migrated.
Go to: sso.jdpg.de
Use the “Forgot Password” function there with either your email address or your Rocket.Chat username.
After that, you can log in at element.jdpg.de. Done!
There are several smartphone apps available, but for most people we recommend “Element Classic.” Enter matrix.jdpg.de as the server URL.
New users after April 28 can go through the regular registration process at sso.jdpg.de.
3. How can I give feedback?Simply send a private message to or join the channel “RocketChat-Matrix-Migration.” Please report any bugs you find 🙂
Meeting dates
This month, several teams are once again meeting for chats. The chats are always open to anyone interested and take place in the jDPG Zoom room. We look forward to seeing you there!
