Description
Physicists are in demand in countless sectors and professions. They are also frequently employed in leadership and management positions due to their high problem-solving competence, but the study of physics prepares little for personnel management and leadership. Leading for Tomorrow" aims to close this gap. The management of large research infrastructures such as CERN, ITER, DESY, etc., but also of larger units in universities (e.g. excellence clusters, SFBs, etc.) and research institutes, requires knowledge that is also required in management positions in industry. Therefore, the programme is to cover two target groups: Future science managers and executives in industry and business.
For the above reasons, the DPG offers a leadership programme for physicists during their doctorate and post-doc phase as well as for young professionals in industry and business. Students are not part of the target group and are not accepted.
2. Leadership in Practice
Second workshop on the topics of leading and developing employees, strategy and innovation, as well as project management, in which basic skills in management and leadership topics are established..
