Events

We regularly organize excursions and other events for students and other interested people. Our goal is to make the study of physics more vivid, to promote exchange and to bring science into society. Here is an overview of our upcoming and past events.

As part of the Physics Orientation Week, we invited you to participate in the Boatle Experiment, as we do every year! This game allows you not only to prove your tinkering skills and physical intuition, but also to get to know your fellow students. We are glad that so many of you came and even set a new record in marble transport! We congratulate the winners and wish you a good start into the new semester.

Exkursion to ZF Friedrichshafen AG

On 20.01.2020 we visited ZF Friedrichshafen AG. The company is a global supplier for automobiles and is one of the world's leading companies in the field of driveline and chassis technology, especially for transmissions. We would like to thank ZF for the interesting, entertaining presentations and the guided tour through the showrooms.

As part of this year's physics orientation week, the new first-year students were once again able to demonstrate their tinkering skills and their intuition for physics. The aim was to build a boat that was as stable as possible with limited materials and tools.

Once again, a wide variety of constructions could be seen - some new, some well-known, some successful, some improvable :).

Many thanks for the numerous participation and a good start into the first semester! - your regional group Konstanz.

Weekend Seminar "Energy - the common Element of Chemistry and Physics"

Together with the Junge Chemiker Forum of the Gesellschaft deutscher Chemiker (JCF), we organized a weekend seminar on the topic of energy. The aim was to provide an insight into the broad research field of energy production, storage and transport.

In addition to lectures by scientists, a field trip to Metrohm AG and an interdisciplinary workshop awaited the participants. In addition, field reports from graduates who have become active in the field of "energy" were able to provide participants with insights into their professional future.

Exkursion zu LASER - World of Photonics

On 24.06.2019, we went on another excursion, this time to the LASER - World of Photonics trade fair in Munich. The trade fair is one of the world's leading events in the laser and photonics industry. All major manufacturers in the industry are represented.

Exkursion to Airbus

On 06.06.2019, 30 students were offered the opportunity for a bit of a change from the normal university routine. In a half-day excursion, we visited the Immenstaad site of the global player Airbus, Europe's largest producer of aircraft. However, we were able to see with our own eyes that Airbus is not only capable of producing airplanes. In Immenstaad, Airbus researches and develops satellites and sensors for space travel. In a factory tour, we were able to get an insight into the research and its implementation in products.
