Datathon

On Sunday March 19th 2023 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), the working group on physics, modern IT and artificial intelligence (AKPIK) will host the very first AKPIK Datathon, which will be held prior to the spring meeting of the matter and cosmos section (SMuK) in Dresden.

Within this Datathon, teams of two to five persons will work on solving an interesting and challenging task on a given data set. Although the results will be inspected by jury, the performance of the results is not the only criterion and a special award will be given to the group with the most creative approach.

The AKPIK Dathathon is intended for younger members of the German Physical Society (DPG) and offers an exciting challenge, as well as the possibility for networking in relaxed atmosphere during coffee breaks. A comprehensive knowledge on Data Science is not required for participation. The participation is free of charge.

Further information on the venue and the program, as well as a registration link will follow shortly.
