Experiments on the ISS
On the occasion of the Horizons Mission of Alexander Gerst, the focus of this symposium is on the experiments on the International Space Station (ISS). In addition to physical experiments also questions of the life sciences shall be addressed.
Goal of the symposium
Within the symposium, scientific experiments on board the ISS shall be demonstrated by explaining the scientific background and the benefits of perfoming the experiments on the ISS . Especially the connection of those investigations to current questions in science shall be elaborated.
Alexander Gerst
Alexander Gerst started on June 6th 2018 to his second mission to the ISS which is under the motto ”Horizons – knowledge for tomorrow”. He shall perform in this international laboratory experiments concerning fluid and materials physics, soft matter, as well as fundamental physics and life sciences.
